Broadway.com Will Be Going Blonde With New Broadway Musical Legally Blonde

Broadway.com is teaming up with Legally Blonde to present Going Blonde, a special behind-the-scenes section on the making of one of the most anticipated new musicals of the Broadway season. Going Blonde, which will be similar in format to recent successful partnerships with the musicals A Chorus Line and Lestat, will launch on Monday, November 13.

In February, Broadway.com unveiled a successful video blog following the musical Lestat, the first of its kind. Users were able to watch the development of the show and meet all of the key players on the production team and cast members with regular video features. In addition, leading man Hugh Panaro kept a video diary throughout the rehearsal and preview performance period of the show.

For the past six weeks, Broadway.com has been spotlighting the 19 talented stars of A Chorus Line with another popular feature, On the Line, a series of video interviews. Like the characters in the show, cast members have shared their stories in these up-close-and-personal features, while also sharing rare photos and videos of their careers.

As previously announced, Laura Bell Bundy Hairspray, Wicked will star as Elle Woods. Legally Blonde will mark the directorial debut of Tony-winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell Hairspray, La Cage aux Folles. The book is by Heather Hach with music and lyrics by the husband-and-wife team of Nell Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe. Legally Blonde is produced by Hal Luftig, Fox Theatricals and Dori Berinstein in association with MGM Onstage, Darcie Denkert and Dean Stolber.

Legally Blonde will run at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco from January 23 through February 24, 2007. Broadway previews are expected to start on April 3 with an opening night set for April 29.
